Generative AI

Google Wants to Teach You How Generative A.I. Works

Numerous companies across the country are rapidly embracing generative A.I., which puts pressure on tech professionals to learn as much about this new technology as possible. To that end, Google Cloud has introduced a series of courses designed to boost your generative A.I. knowledge.

These courses include:

  • IntermediateAimed at application developers, this coursework delves into Google’s new Gemini for Google Cloud generative A.I. platform and how you can use it in the context of networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.
  • Advanced: For AI/ ML Engineers, and you will learn how to integrate multimodal prompts in Gemini into your workflow,” is how Google’s blog describes this coursework.

Google is also launching new Grow with Google Career Certificates in data analytics and cybersecurity, two fields that heavily leverage A.I. The coursework for both certificates involves both basic-level and more advanced work (for example, the cybersecurity certificate trains you in everything from automating cybersecurity tasks with Python to preparing for cybersecurity jobs).

For those who learn the right skills, the Google Cloud Affiliate Employer program can connect them with jobs. “Certificate completers in select hiring locations will have the chance to take custom labs that represent on-the-job scenarios, specific to each employer partner,” Google’s blog adds. “These labs will be considered the first stage in their hiring process. By matching candidates with the right skills to the right jobs, this initiative marks a major step forward in creating more access to job opportunities for cloud employers.”

Via its Grow with Google program, the search engine giant has focused quite a bit on giving people the tech training, tools, and resources they need to succeed in the tech industry. Over the past several quarters, Grow with Google has rolled out career certificates in a variety of industry specializations, helping tech professionals stand out in a crowded marketplace.

If you’re curious about Grow with Google’s most popular certificates, employers’ need for tech specialists, and more, check out this episode of Dice’s “Tech Connects” podcast with Lisa Gevelber, who’s Google’s CMO of the Americas and the founder of Grow with Google:

No matter what your tech specialization, keep in mind that certain core skills will help you thrive in this new era of A.I.-enhanced workflows, including critical thinking, data literacy, and a commitment to continuous learning. If you’re still largely unaware of what generative A.I. can do for you, it’s perhaps time to take a few online courses in how it works.
