According to a news release, the championship is the biggest robotics competition in the world.

The RoboRisers are one of three school teams in North Carolina to qualify for the competition at the middle school level.

They earned third place for the skills challenge and overall ranking in the North Carolina state competition, giving them the spot in the championship.

Since Fall of 2022, the RoboRisers have honed their skills in robot design, programming and teamwork.

“Despite being new to the competitive scene and facing off against more experienced high school teams at regional competitions, their talent and dedication shone through,” a news release said.

Their coach, Sridhar Taduri, attributes this success to their unwavering determination.

“These students have come a long way,” he said. “They started small, designing prototypes in 6th grade. They learned from every setback and competition, and their hard work this season has truly been remarkable.”
