BucherTech hosts open house for clients to learn about cybersecurity

Bucher Technologies (BucherTech) welcomed clients to join its team for breakfast, lunch, and training sessions at an Open House on April 19, celebrating just over a year in the company’s new office. Vendors like Barracuda, Clearfly, Bitdefender, and General Insurance Services were present to speak individually with clients, as well as lead sessions where BucherTech detailed its services and cybersecurity strategies.

As clients filled the reception room, they were greeted with a delicious meal to eat as they mingled and connected with vendors. Throughout the day, attendees engaged in cybersecurity training sessions, where they learned about email security, endpoint security, cybersecurity insurance, and voice-over internet protocol (VoIP).

“Our goal today is to give back to our clients,” said Tim Bucher, president of BucherTech. “We want them to come in, see our new facility, and see some of our people. Sometimes they only talk to each other on the phone and never meet them in person. We’re hoping that clients can learn something, have a good time, and build relationships.”

BucherTech prides itself on building strong connections with clients. The relationships the team builds last years – even decades.

“We build long-term relationships with our clients,” said Phil Skelton, director of sales at BucherTech. “We don’t only care about our clients on the business side, but also on the relationship side.”

The open house provided an excellent opportunity to develop those relationships even further. Clients had the chance to meet BucherTech staff they might not see in person frequently while also creating new topics of discussion thanks to BucherTech’s visiting partners.

“We work with these clients day-to-day on what they need help with,” said Dustin Bucher, senior system engineer at BucherTech. “It’s nice to be able to have them come out, enjoy breakfast and lunch with us, and go over all those tasks that we are currently helping them with or are going to help them with in the future.”

Beyond building and establishing relationships, clients were also able to learn more about cybersecurity and how it can benefit their companies. The attendees were diverse, including both IT experts and business leaders looking to learn more.

“A lot of our clients who come are decision-makers within their business and aren’t necessarily technical people, so this gives them a little bit more information,” said BucherTech Chief Operating Officer Ben Bucher. “Sessions like these help our clients’ businesses become more knowledgeable and secure overall.”

Clients also met and spoke with the vendors who led the cybersecurity training sessions one-on-one, allowing for a unique opportunity to get to know the providers of the products BucherTech trusts.

“Whether it’s email spoofing or impersonation fraud, it’s nice to be able to speak to them one-on-one to go beyond that layer and talk to the actual business owners,” said MSP Account Executive at Bitdefender Kirsten Minto. “We don’t get to do a lot of on-site visits like this, so it’s really special.”

Tim Bucher loved seeing clients connect with both vendors and his team members and was proud to showcase BucherTech’s new office. The space, he noted, should allow the company to host more events like the open house in the future.

“Most of our clients are our friends by now because we’ve worked with them for a long time,” Tim Bucher said. “They’re not just clients. They’re not just people who do business with us. They’re our friends and we have strong relationships with them, and that’s exciting.”
