Apex robotics team VIQRC Team 9555C (Matter) going to world championship in Dallas
APEX, N.C. (WNCN) — An elementary robotics team from Apex is heading to a world championship.
VIQRC Team 9555C (Matter) has qualified for the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation‘s Vex World Championship event in Dallas.
The team qualified after winning four prestigious awards: the Excellence Award, Inspire Award, Judge’s Award and Design Award.
The team’s coach, Niveeta Sharma, said it all started with a spark of curiosity about robotics, from attending scrimmages and competitions.
“They embarked on a mission to expand their learnings beyond the conventional boundaries of robotics,” she said. “With unwavering dedication, the team has spent the last eight months tirelessly refining their robot’s design, meticulously documenting their progress and setting ambitious goals at every competition.”
Sharma says the girl-powered team is the only team in the Triangle to qualify for the world championship in their category.
