Cartier Women’s Initiative 2024: Honouring Impact Entrepreneurs Worldwide – BILLIONAIRE Asia

Cartier empowers women entrepreneurs.

Cartier has proudly unveiled the 33 fellows selected for the 2024 edition of the Cartier Women’s Initiative, honouring their outstanding achievements and innovative solutions to pressing global issues. Now in its 17th year, the Cartier Women’s Initiative has grown into an international programme aimed at spotlighting women impact entrepreneurs and providing them with crucial financial, social, and human capital support to scale their businesses and enhance their leadership capabilities.

This year, 27 fellows were chosen for the 9 regional awards, with an additional 6 fellows selected for the 2 thematic awards. These awards recognise and fund talented impact entrepreneurs from diverse regions around the world, leveraging business as a force for positive change. The regional awards cover regions such as Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, Europe, and others, while the thematic awards include the Science & Technology Pioneer Award and the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award.

The winners of each award category will be announced during the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards Ceremony on May 22nd, 2024, in Shenzhen, China. As a vibrant hub of entrepreneurship and innovation, Shenzhen provides the perfect backdrop for celebrating these trailblazing entrepreneurs and their achievements.

In addition to financial support, all fellows will benefit from tailored mentoring and coaching, media exposure, networking opportunities, and educational courses from leading business school INSEAD. The first-place awardees will receive USD $100,000 in grant funding, with second and third-place awardees receiving USD $60,000 and USD $30,000 respectively.

Founded in 2006, the Cartier Women’s Initiative emerged from the recognition of the need for greater inclusivity in the entrepreneurial landscape. Women entrepreneurs often face numerous obstacles, including gender bias and limited access to funding and support networks. Since its inception, the initiative has supported 330 women impact entrepreneurs from 66 countries, providing a total of USD $9,500,000 in grant funding and establishing a global network of over 700 community members.

As Cyrille Vigneron, CEO and President of Cartier, notes, “Women social entrepreneurs are leaders, creators, pioneers, and a source of inspiration.” The Cartier Women’s Initiative continues to empower women entrepreneurs worldwide, proving their capacity to drive positive change and address pressing social and environmental challenges while building financially sustainable businesses.
