The Salesforce Einstein Copilot Is Now Generally Available
Salesforce has revealed that Einstein Copilot, the company’s conversational AI assistant for CRM, is now generally available.
Powered by generative AI (GenAI), Einstein Copilot is a conversational assistant integrated into every Salesforce application.
Through these apps, employees can interact with Copilot to execute diverse workflows and pose inquiries using natural language.
Salesforce claims that its solution stands out from other AI assistants and chat tools due to its unified capabilities.
The assistant is built on the Einstein 1 Platform, can access data stored within Salesforce’s Data Cloud, and is compatible with Salesforce metadata.
As such, the Copilot in one CRM system can leverage data within other Salesforce solutions and enable cross-app workflows.
In discussing the release of the company’s latest solution, Adam Evans, SVP of Product for the Salesforce AI Platform, was full of praise for the Einstein Copilot’s ability to accurately interpret complicated data sets:
“As we continue the rapid pace of innovation, this is an exciting step forward in conversational AI for enterprises.
With this release, every organization can now deploy a trusted AI assistant grounded in their unique business data and metadata that can assist users with a multitude of actions, automating complex processes and improving productivity.
Having announced plans to launch the assistant in September of last year at Dreamforce 2023, the official release includes new sales actions and several additional features aimed at enhancing enterprise AI adoption.
Let’s take a more detailed look at some of those new and previously announced features that the Einstein Copilot boasts.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
One of the major ways that Salesforce is leveraging the Copilot’s access to data and metadata is by supporting sales teams with ‘Copilot Actions’.
These pre-programmed capabilities provide the Einstein Copilot with the tools to bring together separate workflows and “get things done on behalf of users.”
Copilot Actions works in tandem with Salesforce’s ‘reasoning engine’ to remove the need to train or program an LLM.
By accessing the company’s library of actions, the tool is able to interpret user requests and outline the tasks that can be automated – increasing efficiency and freeing up sales reps to handle more complex cases.
The solution also includes the following sales actions, which Salesforce claims will help to “boost seller productivity”:
- Close plans
- Forecast guidance
- Call explorer
- Follow-up emails
- Einstein Copilot is available in Sales Cloud everywhere
But what features does the Einstein Copilot offer to users outside of the sales department?
Platform Enhancements
While sales was namechecked as the department that might benefit most from some of Copilot’s new features, the tool also provides fresh capabilities for the overall Salesforce platform, which the company believes will contribute to “making every conversational AI experience better.”
- Copilot Analytics: Admins have access to a pre-set analytics dashboard to track Einstein Copilot usage. The tool encourages the acceleration of Copilot adoption by analyzing key metrics such as actions, user interactions, and success rates – aiding businesses in measuring the ROI of their AI offerings.
- Recommended Actions: Teams are empowered to swiftly complete tasks by presenting single-click standard actions tailored to the user’s current page, eliminating the need for manual input.
- Einstein Copilot on the Salesforce Mobile App: Users are able to leverage AI productivity features, including voice-to-text functionality, for seamless interaction with data and workflows, even on the go.

The CRM provider also made news last week with the announcement of the Zero Copy Partner Network.
With a who’s who of customer service tech firms already onboard – including AWS, Databricks, Google Cloud, Snowflake, and Microsoft – the Network is aiming to streamline the way businesses access and use customer data.
It hopes to achieve this by incorporating zero copy integrations, providing users with a “secure and cost-effective way to connect and take action on all of their data.”
This initiative seeks to eliminate the need for customized integrations and complex data pipelines, offering users a more efficient, secure, and user-friendly approach to connecting data with business applications.
