New electric vehicle rebates for new, used cars in Delaware
DOVER — As of May 1, Delaware will offer rebates for used plug-in or battery electric vehicles while implementing a new tiered discount structure for new vehicles.
Used vehicles must be purchased from a licensed dealership, have a market value of less than $40,000 and be less than eight model years old to qualify.
The state offers $2,500 for new and used battery vehicles valued at $40,000 or less, $1,500 for new battery vehicles between $40-$50,000 and $1,000 for used battery vehicles valued at less than $50,000 and hybrids less than $40,000.
These rebates are in addition to federal tax credits, and are in effect until April 2025.
