MORROW — Clayton State University’s College of Business recently celebrated a significant milestone in fostering entrepreneurial spirit among its students with the successful launch of the Center for Social Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (CSISE) Entrepreneur Showcase and Expo.
The March 26 event witnessed 12 student-led businesses stepping into the spotlight, demonstrating their innovative concepts and competing for prizes and recognition on the university’s vibrant “Main Street” within the University Center.
Organized with the support of the Entrepreneurship Club, led by Diallo Wilburg, Deanna Perkins, Miguel Garcia, and the Marketing Club, under the guidance of Kendra Anderson, the expo provided an unparalleled platform for aspiring student entrepreneurs. Informative workshops, offered by both clubs, enriched participants with invaluable insights into effective business pitching and branding strategies, courtesy of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The event, embodying the collaborative spirit of the College of Business (COB) community, was brought to life through the collective efforts of Dr. Leon Prieto, Assistant Dean & CSISE Director, Dr. Stacey Reynolds, CSISE Associate Director & Assistant Professor of Management, Dr. Jacob Chacko, Dean of the College of Business, Dr. Kimberly Johnson, Advisors Dr. Everod Davis and Professor Arianne Adams, alongside the invaluable contributions of Jalen Teal-Williams, Innovation Center Manager and Candace Jones, Executive Assistant. This vibrant celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship was made possible by the generous sponsorship of JIDE Gear founders, Brian C. Ezeike and Dr. Chichi Nwankwo Ezeike.
