SCORE Hosts Local Small Business Owners for Female Entrepreneurship Workshop
The Central Pennsylvania chapter of SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, held a free interactive workshop focused on encouraging female entrepreneurship Tuesday at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in State College.
The event, titled “Unleash Your Potential: Tools for Small Business Success,” welcomed the leaders from five small but growing companies for attendees to learn about the critical components for launching and running a successful small business.
Kathy Fisher, from Kathryn’s LLC; Celina Joval, from Adult Transitional Care; Tatiana and Derek Polay, from The Cakeshop by Tati LLC; Gerry Williams, from Valor Staging and Design; and Saleemah Williams, from Avail LLC, joined SCORE mentor Dorene Uhrich for the panel discussion.
Before and after the event, attendees had the opportunity to network with panelists, SCORE mentors and other attendees.
SCORE’s mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education.
“As a small business owner, having access to the right tools and knowledge is crucial for success,” said Marty Mehring, chair of the Central PA SCORE chapter.
