NoVA Entrepreneurs Competing for Ernst & Young Award

Eleven business leaders from Northern Virginia are among 30 finalists for Ernst & Young’s 2024 Mid-Atlantic Entrepreneur of the Year award.

An independent panel of judges selected them “based on their demonstration of long-term value through entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth, and impact,” the Ernst & Young website said.

Here are the regional finalists from Northern Virginia:

Three other Virginia entrepreneurs made the Ernst & Young list. Glenn Diersen of Summit Human Capital in Richmond, Tobias Dengel of WillowTree in Charlottesville, and Tom Walker of DroneUp in Virginia Beach.

The 30 regional finalists from Virginia, Maryland, and DC generated $2.8 billion in 2023. They had an average revenue growth of 86 percent and employed more than 16,000 people last year.

“Our independent panel of judges selected bold entrepreneurs who show resilience and adaptability as well as a dedication to solving real problems in business and society. We are delighted to recognize their successes,” said Anthony Calderazzi, Ernst & Young Mid-Atlantic program co-director.

The regional winner will be announced in June and will go on to compete on the national level. This is the 38th year for the Entrepreneur of the Year award.
