Telkom strengthens cyber security with F5
Telco provider Telkom Indonesia (Persero) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with multicloud application security vendor F5 to accelerate the development and improvement of its cyber security capabilities.
“The Telkom-F5 strategic partnership is the reinforcement for Telkom Group’s capabilities as Indonesia’s preferred digital telco, specifically in cyber security. This also aligned with Telkom’s strategic program known as Five Bold Moves, for B2B Digital IT Services area,” Telkom strategic portfolio director Budi Setyawan Wijaya said.
The cyber security market’s potential in Indonesia is forecasted to reach IDR 6 trillion in 2028, with 16.6 per cent CAGR from 2022 to 2028 according to IDC’s 2023 research.
With the growth of the digital economy and digital security services demand in Indonesia, Telkom tries to meet these needs through its portfolio of digital connectivity, digital platforms, and digital services.
“The demand of cyber security in the future will be escalated along with a strengthened digital transformation campaign in Indonesia and the implementation of Personal Data Protection Act in October 2024,” Telkom director of enterprise and business services Venusiana Papasi said.
This strategic collaboration aims to support Indonesian government’s efforts in strengthening Indonesia’s economy, where cybersecurity plays a crucial role in building a strong, secure, sovereign and sustainable digital economy.
According to F5 senior vice president of Asia Pacific, China and Japan (APCJ) Adam Judd, the strategic partnership with Telkom will pave the way for new business models and revenue streams.
“We’re excited to embark on this strategic partnership with Telkom. Through our joint efforts in product bundling and harnessing Telkom’s strength in infrastructure business, we are confident to elevate our cybersecurity services offerings for the vibrant tech B2B market in Indonesia,” F5 Indonesia country manager Surung Sinamo said.
