New solar-powered electric vehicle charger installed at Dartmouth College
Electric vehicle commuters at Dartmouth College are getting the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint after the college installed a solar EV charger on the Hanover campus.The charging station was designed by Norwich-based company Solaflect Energy.The machine has a dual-axis, tracking solar array that collects clean energy and delivers it to four parking spots.The company said the new charging station can provide up to 40,000 miles of EV charging per year.Solaflect said it is working on implementing similar stations at Dartmouth Health in Keene as well as at Middlebury College in Vermont.
