Robotics State Tournament 2024: Advance Release | News
Robots and their student-human counterparts will take to the floor at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 4, for the Minnesota State High School League’s 2024 Robotics State Tournament. The event begins with qualifying rounds at 8:30 a.m., and concludes with an awards ceremony at approximately 5:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Rocori and Dassel-Cokato, both first-time champions in 2023, return in search of more gold. They formed the winning alliance with Fairmont last year.
Becker and Greenbush-Middle River, who were part of the runner-up alliance in 2023, also return. Becker won previously in 2013 and 2022 and Greenbush-Middle River won in 2016, 2018 and 2022. Pequot Lakes rounded out the second-place alliance last year.
This year’s competition is CRESCENDOSM presented by Haas. In the event, competing alliances are invited to score notes, amplify their speaker, harmonize onstage and take the spotlight before time runs out. Alliances earn additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and for cooperating with their opponents.
