Rose Hill hosts entrepreneurship fair, inspiring future business owners

JACKSON, Tenn. — Students at one local school learn what’s it’s like to be a small business owner.

An entrepreneurship fair was held at Rose Hill School in East Madison County this evening.

The event provided an opportunity for 15 to 20 small business owners to educate students on business and entrepreneurship.

It’s also provided an opportunity for school staff and families to enjoy some shopping and support local businesses.

Organizers say many of the students tell them they would eventually like to start their own business.

“What we want them to understand is that it’s not just as simple as owning the business. You’ve got to have a business plan, you’ve got to market your business, and so we thought that putting them in touch with people in their area that actually are doing it will help them to understand how much work they need to put into it,” said Dr. Tiffany Green, Principal for Rose Hill School.

Organizers say they hope more students will want to take what they learn and eventually start their own small business.
