Program offers insight on cybersecurity practices for businesses in Canfield, Ohio

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — With more businesses concerned about fraud and cybersecurity, Farmers National Bank has inexpensive programs that can help.

On Wednesday afternoon at the Farmer’s Canfield Lab Branch, there was a briefing on the programs that include check positive pay, Automated Clearing House Positive Pay, Security Token and Trusteer Rapport.

Information security officer Kristi Blue addressed the safeguards fraud, while Blake Drennen addressed the safeguards of cybersecurity.

“There’s positive pay options with the bank. There’s also not taking your mail into those blue boxes and actually going to the post office,” said Blue.

“Including, like, MFA — multifactor authentication — to have dual purposes of signing in and verifying your identity,” Drennen said.

Drennen said the six-digit codes we often get to access certain accounts is a cybersecurity protection. He said to never give those codes to anyone.
