As SVP of Xfinity Mobile, Kohposh Kuda is responsible for end-to-end Product Management and Strategy for the Consumer Mobile Product category, which includes end-to-end product lifecycle management of core and emerging mobile services and devices, new product innovation, product excellence, and converged strategies for long-term growth. He joined the company in 2017, with a focus on Product Management, Strategy, and Operations across various Connectivity and Entertainment portfolios. He has nearly 20 years of telecom experience in various Product, Marketing, Strategy, Sales, Technology, and Operations roles. Learn more about Kohposh in the interview below.

Q. You have been at the company for more than seven years. How has your role evolved, and how does Xfinity Mobile fit into Comcast’s growth strategy?

A. “I started my journey at Comcast to help grow Xfinity Prepaid, which we launched in 2017 as a new product category focused on providing home Internet and entertainment services for the value consumer segment. I continued my journey by helping to shape and bring various Connectivity products and services to market.

“In 2022, I joined the team to lead Xfinity Mobile (XM), which is such an integral piece of Comcast’s Connectivity growth story. Our core value proposition is to deliver the best connected experience that saves consumers money – both in and out of the home. We’re six years into the launch of XM, and with over six million customers who use and enjoy our service every day, we’re not only the fastest growing line of business while delivering consistent, profitable growth, but we also have one of the best product Net Promoter Scores. And we’re just getting started.”

“I am enthusiastic about building products that meet our consumers’ needs and help solve complex business challenges – and my professional trajectory has grown through roles aligned with that passion.”

Q. You have also taken part in Comcast’s EXCEL Program. Can you tell us about this program and what you have learned?

A. “The EXCEL program is designed for VP+ leaders across Comcast and stands out for creating a supportive community that nurtures networking, professional growth, and mutual support. Think of it as having a personal board of advisors.

“In the past year through EXCEL, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with other diverse leaders and allies and identify ways in which we can help each other grow and lift up the next generation of leaders within the company. This includes three key focus areas: enhancing engagement, facilitating networking and connections, and providing mentorship and sponsorship opportunities.”

Q. What does Comcast’s commitment to DE&I in the workforce mean to you? How are you advancing that commitment as a leader?

A. “Fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion requires intentional efforts. Comcast has taken significant steps to deliver on that commitment – from cultivating openness through active listening to creating safe spaces for open dialogue, advocating for representation at all organizational levels, and supporting initiatives that amplify those diverse voices.

“I constantly address my unconscious biases by championing policies that promote equity and fairness, prioritize merit and skill, and foster an environment where everyone has equal growth opportunities. As a first-generation Asian American, I’ve connected with individuals, mentors, and leaders who share similar experiences, challenges, and perspectives, which has helped me grow personally and professionally. A big part of my passion is giving back and serving this community that has given me so much over the last two decades.”

Q. You’ve been a National Champion of Comcast’s Asian Pacific Americans (APA) Employee Resource Group (ERG) for over a year. What has changed this past year, and what would you still like to accomplish?

A. “It is a privilege to be an APA ERG National Co-Champion with Dawn Williamson, SVP and Head of Sales Development at Effectv. Throughout my career, one thing that I have learned is that feedback is only as valuable as the action you take once you have received it. We spent the last year aligning with members of the APA ERG and the National Advisory Council (NAC) on three key focus areas based on employee feedback: career & skill development, community collaboration, and cultural awareness.

“2024 will be the year of career & skill development, specifically leadership development and representation advocacy. We have an opportunity to make a significant impact, and I am excited to continue to support this journey for our ERG members and to help shepherd the mission forward.”

Q. What advice would you give your younger self?

A. “Slow down. Enjoy the ride. And always try to play the long game.”
