The role:

The Sr. Product Manager II, Premium Video Experiences, role presents a unique opportunity to work on ESPN and create the next generation of products for Sports fans. This person will focus on driving innovation across the subscription products that exist today, as well as how we engage sports fans in the future. This role is pivotal in developing the strategy and leading execution of our ESPN direct-to-consumer products. This person will be charged with understanding the fan experience across our suite of products and integrating the right product at the right time for the right fan.
The ideal candidate will possess the leadership, product sense, and analytical capabilities to execute ESPN’s product vision. This is a critical role, and the ideal candidate is expected to partner with stakeholders across the company to design solutions that will win in the marketplace. This opportunity is uniquely positioned to make an immediate impact on the next generation of ESPN’s consumer experiences.
Responsibilities:

  • Focus on a mix of user-facing features including, but not limited to: merchandising ESPN DTC products, funnel creation and optimization, paywalls, A/B testing UX and UI, and landing pages.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams in Product Design, Engineering, Editorial, and Commerce to create, design, build, and drive growth across our digital subscription services.
  • Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions, conduct A/B testing, and continuously iterate on features to optimize integrations, performance and conversion of our DTC products.
  • Strategize with business and marketing teams to understand their needs and build solutions that help fans understand ESPN’s offerings.
  • Collaborate across our brands to merchandise the Disney Bundle options on ESPN, and to surface ESPN services within Disney+ and Hulu.
  • Engage in our sports-obsessed culture to best serve our fans.

Basic Qualifications

  • Keen product sense and demonstrated product leadership experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in A|B testing, data analysis and analytical thinking
  • Familiarity and passion for app development on native platforms (iOS/tvOS, Android, Roku, etc)
  • High level of comfort communicating with executives inside and outside of ESPN, including strategic partners
  • High energy and capable of multitasking and context switching with ease, in a fast paced and ever evolving organization
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team oriented and collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Process driven and extremely detail oriented
  • Experience leading end-to-end product development processes, from concept through retrospective, for both consumer-facing and back-end features
  • Experience creating and delivering compelling, data-driven presentations to both senior and junior audiences
  • Understanding of media, streaming, and sports landscapes, and familiarity with terminologies and business models
  • Understanding of IAP stores (including Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku), SKUs, and general upgrade/downgrade functionality
  • Experience developing digital streaming products, particularly with a monetization focus
  • Sports fan and/or ESPN user

Experience

  • 7+ years of product management or relevant experience required
  • Experience with Product Development tools: Jira, Figma, Confluence, Airtable
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required

The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT and Santa Monica, CA is $142,516 – $191,180 per year, in NYC and Seattle is $156,292 – $209,660 per year and in San Francisco is 163,426 – $219,230 based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
