Milrem Robotics, a company that supplies Ukraine with ground-based drones, has opened a new facility in Tallinn.
The new plant will increase the company’s production capacity by five times, the company said in a press release.
The company stated that many end-users were satisfied with the results of testing the robotic vehicles and are preparing to launch high-quantity procurements.
The increase in production capacity will prepare the company to participate in future tenders.
“Also, the growing use of UGVs in Ukraine shows a clear focus and importance of unmanned ground systems,” the company’s press release reads.
The new facility allows the company to manufacture more than 500 units of its operationally proven, multi-mission THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle annually.
The THeMIS is already part of robotics programs in 18 different countries internationally, eight of which are members of NATO.
THeMIS UGVs are also assisting Ukrainian soldiers in the war with Russia.
Last year, EDGE Group PJSC, a company headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, acquired a controlling stake in Milrem Robotics, an Estonian company that develops robots and autonomous systems for military use.
Milrem Robotics signed an agreement with the JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry (Ukroboronprom) to start forging next-generation multi-domain robotic defense systems.
Ukrainian defense companies will be involved in the integration of their defense technology, such as weapon systems, electronic warfare and mine-clearing equipment with Milrem’s robotic vehicles to meet the requirements of the armed forces.
In addition, the parties are considering the manufacturing localization of robotic systems developed by Milrem Robotics in Ukraine.
