Significant increase in investment in telecommunication sector over five years

Islamabad: Over the course of five years, there has been a substantial increase in investment in the telecommunications sector.

According to reports, the total investment in the telecom industry has reached $5.57 billion with the number of mobile phone users surpassing 190 million.

The rate of internet users in the country stands at 54.97% marking a significant increase. In 2020, the telecom sector earned $22.5 billion followed by $32.5 billion in 2021.

Similarly, in 2022, the telecom sector’s revenue reached $34 billion and last year, it surged to $85 billion. Additionally, the telecom industry also experienced positive growth in internet usage in January 2023.
