Lincoln Elementary Robotics Team Sweeps GUSD Tournament with Outstanding Performance


 

In a display of talent and innovation, the robotics team at Lincoln Elementary School was triumphant at the recent Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) robotics tournament. Held on April 6 at Roosevelt Middle School in Glendale, the tournament proved to be a momentous occasion for the team as they clinched top honors and cemented their reputation as formidable competitors.

Under the expert guidance of their coaches, fourth grade teacher Cindy Rovello, third grade teacher Heather Vales, and computer lab instructor Tony Ohanian, the Lincoln robotics team delivered a solid performance across all facets of the competition. The team’s achievements culminated in a stunning first place overall finish, marking a crowning achievement in their journey toward excellence.

The Lincoln robotics team’s success was underscored by their domination in key categories, including two first place wins in the presentation and robot design rounds. Additionally, their performance in the robot performance segment earned them a commendable second place, showcasing their technical prowess and attention to detail.

The roster of talented students behind the award-winning robots includes fourth grade students Jeremy Bardens, Lia Mikaelian, Leela Johnson, Leon Ko, Vivian Moreau, Alyazin Ayad and Luca Lafaurie, alongside fifth grader Jason Yim, and sixth graders Evan Choi, Elise Dermovsesian, Ryan Kam, Aileen Kim, Logan Moreau and Anais Bedikian.

The contribution of each student played a vital role in shaping the team’s victory, highlighting the dedication and collaborative spirit of its members.
