Leapmotor’s two SUV models, the C11 and C10, delivered a total of 11,992 units in May, or 66.02 percent of total deliveries, according to figures it released today.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor’s models on sale include the C11, C10, mini EV T03, and flagship sedan C01.

The company began pre-sales of its new SUV model, the C16, at the Beijing auto show in late April and said the new model is expected to sell for under 200,000 yuan ($27,600) for the top tirm.

The C16 will go on sale this month, Leapmotor said today.

The company initially offered only battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, but had moved over the past few years to also offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models to target the larger market for plug-in hybrids.

On October 26, 2023, Leapmotor said Stellantis would invest 1.5 billion euros ($1.6 billion) in the company for a stake of about 20 percent, making it the largest outside shareholder in the EV maker.

Leapmotor International, a joint venture between the two, was officially launched on May 14 this year and will begin selling vehicles in Europe from September.

Stellantis leads the joint venture with a 51 percent stake, while Leapmotor holds the other 49 percent.
