RelationalAI brings knowledge graph coprocessor to Snowflake’s data cloud for better decision-making

Artificial intelligence startup RelationalAI Inc. is building on its relationship with Snowflake Inc. with the public launch of its Snowflake Native App, available now on the Snowflake Marketplace.

It promised the new app will enable enterprise customers to extract more value from their data and enhance their decision-making processes. The startup says it gives enterprises a way to leverage their large, cloud-based data repositories to create intelligent applications that can observe, decide and act on knowledge that resides within those environments..

RelationalAI acts as a kind of “coprocessor” that lives inside Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud, bringing knowledge and business logic closer to where information is stored. It provides customers with a relational knowledge graph system inside their cloud data stores, enabling them to perform graph analytics, business rules, optimization, rule-based reasoning and other AI analysis techniques on their data. Companies can build a “common model” of their business and capture knowledge centrally to better inform every decision they make.

Because it resides within the Snowflake Cloud, RelationalAI has the advantage of always being in sync with enterprises’ most recent data, allowing them to apply multiple AI techniques to solve business problems, the startup said. It cites use cases including fraud detection in the e=commerce and financial services industries, supply chain optimization for logistics providers, and contextual recommendations for online retailers, which are all enhanced via sophisticated real-time analytics.

Early adopters of its AI coprocessor include Block Inc.’s Cash App, which uses RelationalAI’s offering to analyze the behavior of its customers. “RelationalAI’s knowledge graph coprocessor enables my team to see patterns, identify customer needs, and better serve our customers,” said Cristian Figueroa, Cash App’s head of network science and behavioral modeling. “With RelationalAI, we can now do these sophisticated graph analyses within our Snowflake environment, saving us significant time and money.”

By operating directly within customers’ Snowflake accounts, RelationalAI allows them to leverage their existing governance and security parameters to perform AI-powered data analysis with no data egress fees.

RelationalAI Chief Executive Molham Aref said the partnership with Snowflake means his company is at the forefront of the emerging knowledge graph coprocessor industry. “RelationalAI extends what customers can do with Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud, and enables them to create new workloads where their data already lives,” he said.

The company said it intends to demonstrate the capabilities of its knowledge graph coprocessor to attendees at this week’s Snowflake Data Cloud Summit, which is taking place in San Francisco this week.

“Built on the Snowflake Native App Framework and Snowpark Container Services, this technology enables customers to get more value from their Snowflake data and operationalize their organization’s knowledge through a common model of their business,” said Snowflake’s head of collaboration, Prasanna Krishnan.
