High school seniors receive TDS Telecommunications scholarships | News


MADISON (WKOW) — TDS has announced the recipients of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation Scholarships.

Three high school seniors from the state will receive $1,500 towards their college education. 

The winners of the 2024 Scholarships are:

Skye Dickson, Monroe High School, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Daniel Phipps, Brillion High School, plans to attend the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota.

Emma Rokus, Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 

Since 1966, the fund has contributed nearly $2 million to help further student’s education. More than 1,400 students have been awarded scholarships. 

“For 16 years, TDS Telecom has proudly supported driven, high-achieving, and community-minded students in their pursuit of higher education through the WSTF scholarship,” said Angie Dickison, TDS State Government Affairs Manager. “We wish these talented individuals good luck and success as they embark on their post high school journeys.”

The foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association (WSTA), a trade organization representing 67 companies and cooperatives in Wisconsin, including TDS Telecom. This year, the foundation is contributing $42,500 to 30 students across the state. Money for the fund is contributed by people within the telecommunications industry.
