Robotics class upgrades on the way for Tallahassee high schoolers
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – This one will give students at Rickards and SAIL two new STEM courses.
SAIL is adding to its engineering classes and Rickards is upgrading its robotics club to a robotics class thanks to a $1.6 million grant from the Florida Department of Education.
Rickards is coming off a big weekend. Its “robot tour” team came in first in the state in the Science Olympiad competition. The principal said Rickards is the first Title One school to ever win that state title!
”We’ll have the financial backing so that they can use their imagination and do the things they would like to do and keep pushing our program to the next level,” said Principal Doug Cook.
