Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga Empowers Food Entrepreneurs | Local News
The Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga is a nonprofit focused on empowering and supporting food-based entrepreneurs. They are kicking off “KIC Nights” on June 21st from 5:00-9:00 with a “Faith and Family” night
Pat Rowe with KIC says their mission is to bridge the gap for underrepresented entrepreneurs.
“One of the things that we’ve noticed within the city is there’s not a lot of places for food trucks to set up to make money.” Rowe said. “If they’re not making money – then guess what – hey don’t stay in business.”
KIC has given small businesses a platform to thrive. They hold “Food Truck Fridays” on the first Friday of every month from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.. The community asked for an event in the evening, so they started KIC nights.
“We listened to the call, and we answered it, so we started KIC Nights every third Friday (of the month).”
KIC Nights will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Kitchen Incubator of Chattanooga- 5704 Marlin Road, Chattanooga, TN- every third Friday of the month through August 16.
On Friday, June 21st, it will be “Faith and Family” night.
“We’ve invited a lot of churches within the community out. Karen Collins, featuring Sam Patton & Friends is going to be the entertainment. We’re going to have food trucks. We’re going to have food vendors,” Rowe said.
Rowe encourages people to support the midtown community and small business owners, and says they are still accepting vendors.
