WEneurs Forum Empowers Young Women Entrepreneurs
WEneurs Forum, an organisation dedicated to empowering and supporting startup entrepreneurs, particularly women, has successfully completed its flagship event, Aadyaa 3.0 – the Girlpreneur Startup Launchpad. The event, which began on May 20th, aimed to instill the entrepreneurial spirit in schoolgirls and mark their first steps towards becoming female entrepreneurs.
This initiative is consistent with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality, which seeks to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, which promotes long-term, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all. WEneurs Forum contributes significantly to global goals by empowering young women and encouraging entrepreneurship.
The programme was created to assist participants in exploring their entrepreneurial concepts and providing a platform for transforming those ideas into viable ventures, laying the groundwork for a career in entrepreneurship. It served female students in grades 8 through 12, with 147 girls from 10 states and 30 cities, including international participants, taking part in the comprehensive 15-day programme.
The initiative went beyond theoretical instruction by providing hands-on experiences through interactions with startups and seasoned professionals. It encouraged collaborative group presentations, individual idea pitching competitions, and more.
The program’s top achievers, Sidhhi Shibani from Odisha, Anshita Shukla from Bhubaneswar, and Pratikshya Samantaray from Odisha, will each receive a cash prize of $10,000, $5,000, and $3,000. Generous sponsorship from Indian Bank, Auxein Medical Ltd., and Kubonn Innovative Ltd., as well as support from various organisations such as Idea to Market Fit, Headstart Network Foundation, RE-Mind, Altaveu, and Heeel Foundation, all contributed significantly to the program’s success.
