The Dalles, Ore., April 12, 2024 – The Dalles City Council honored local students for their robotics insight that led to state championships and a berth to the World Competition in Dallas on April 24.

Read about their championship run here.

“We’ve honored students for championships in track, softball or for honor roll,” said Mayor Rich Mays before handing out certificates. “I don’t think we have honored people quite like you and the way you guys have swept the Oregon State Robotics Championships.”

Mays also acknowledged the concerted efforts of Lu Seapy and Chuck Weber in getting the students to world-class levels.

Robotics programs will be fundraising heavily this spring. To support the programs, please contact lu.seapy@oregonstate.edu for teams from The Dalles or patrick.getchis@hoodriver.k12.or.us for Hood River support. Call Lu Seapy at 541-298-4004 with any questions.

Wasco County 4-H Robotics and The Dalles Robotics programs wish to thank its sponsors: Columbia Gorge STEM Hub, Google, and Oregon State University Extension Service.
