Manhasset Robotics Team To Represent LI On World Stage
MANHASSET, NY — A Manhasset school robotics club is gearing up to represent Long Island on the world stage at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas from April 24 through April 27.
Team 24842, an independent VEX Robotics organization, was founded by eight Manhasset sophomores. They are asking for donations to help send the team to Dallas to compete on an international level. The GoFundMe can be viewed here.
“Though we lacked the mentorship and resources of many of our competitors, we’ve won numerous accolades at a regional and state level,” the team wrote on the fundraiser. “In the past two years, we’ve expanded to two teams and have plans to keep growing.”
The team has achieved:
- 1x World Championship Qualifier
- 2x New York State Championship Qualifier
- 2x Judges Award
- 1x Think Award
The team was invited to compete at the VEX World Championships, the highest level of competition.
“However, as an independent team, parts, registration fees, and transportation costs come out of pocket,” the team wrote. “We would appreciate any and all donations to support our passion for engineering. Thank you!!”
