Meta AI can access information in real time, answer questions or create images in the Meta instant messaging application. At the moment, this artificial intelligence is not available in Spain.
Meta, Mark Zuckerberg’s company, begins testing its assistant powered by generative artificial intelligence (AI), called Meta AI, in the WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger applications to introduce said chatbot in the search bar of the aforementioned platforms.
This technology can interact with natural language through the technology’s different services and devices, access information in real time, answer questions, offer advice and allow you to create stickers or images. In addition, all these functions are based on the Llama 2 language model, being large in size and accessing information in real time.
On the other hand, regarding its availability, the TechCrunch newspaper reports that Meta has begun testing its Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger with some users in India, the United States and other African countries. And, according to statements from a spokesperson for Zuckerberg’s company to the same medium, the company details that “generative experiences powered by AI are in development in different phases” and, therefore, it has begun to test “a variety of them public with limited capacity”.
In this way, by introducing the assistant through all three platforms, Meta will be able to easily expand the capabilities of its artificial intelligence to more people.
How Meta AI works on WhatsApp
Users can access the assistant by clicking on the shortcut button located in the chats tab. Afterwards, they will start a conversation by entering their questions or the actions they want to take in the search bar and, after that, the chatbot will display information related to what they requested.
Furthermore, it seems that WhatsApp is working on some initial instructions for new users who want to make queries to the assistant, however, the objective pursued by Meta is that AI can be used quickly and easily.
On the other hand, although Meta AI is integrated into the application’s search, the information will be private due to the security of the end-to-end encryption characteristic of the instant messaging platform.
And finally, as detailed by WaBetaInfo, the novelty is available with the latest WhatsApp updates for iOS and Android in selected users in some countries and with the application configuration in English.
