Akademi launches Data Science Bootcamp in Jamaica

Akademi, an education company dedicated to training the next generation of Caribbean technologists, is excited to announce the launch of its Data Science Bootcamp in Jamaica.
Led by founder and CEO Castelline Tilus, a Stanford University graduate and Haitian-American entrepreneur, Akademi aims to empower aspiring data scientists with the skills needed to excel within technology careers.
The boot camp, which will run from August 12, 2024 to December 13, 2024, offers an intensive, hands-on learning experience designed to prepare participants for successful careers in data science and related fields.
“At Akademi, our mission is to create opportunities for Caribbean residents to thrive in the tech industry,” said Castelline Tilus. “We believe that anyone, regardless of their background, can excel in tech. Our boot camp is structured to provide comprehensive training, career coaching, and job placement support, ensuring our graduates are job-market ready in just four months.”
The programme will be led by a team of multinational instructors, with the lead instructor being a graduate of The University of the West Indies, Mona.
The Data Science Bootcamp offers a robust curriculum that covers everything from computer programming and statistics to advanced topics such as machine learning and Generative AI for data analytics.
Participants will engage in multiple applied projects and a final capstone project, equipping them with a solid portfolio to present to employer partners Digicel, Symptai, Resolve IT, and Gizzada Software.
Interested candidates must be at least 18 years old and reside in Jamaica.
