Apple has revealed its first generative AI features for the iPhone.
The tech company partnered with ChatGPT creator OpenAI to create the new features.
Siri will be able to perform specific tasks such as recalling a picture taken years ago on the device or answering detailed questions about the weather, news or trivia. It can also perform more advanced tasks, like answering when a user’s friend’s plane is landing by analyzing info previously sent in an email. Over time, it could learn the user’s preferences and respond accordingly.
Users will also be able to create personalized photos and asking the software to pull up all photos of a family member as well as retrieve and analyze data from across all apps.
Apple said it is taking privacy and security very seriously with the roll-out of the new technology.
The new features are expected to be released with the new iPhone 16 this year. They will also be available for iPhone 15 users as well.
