Are humanoid robots bringing the next era of robotics? – Technology News

As the world continues to experiment with Robotics, Boston Dynamics moves a step ahead and launches Atlas, an all-new electric version of its humanoid robot. The company stated that the electric Atlas will move in ways that “exceed human capabilities”. “We designed the electric version of Atlas to be stronger, more dexterous, and more agile. Atlas may resemble a human form factor, but we are equipping the robot to move in the most efficient way possible to complete a task, rather than being constrained by a human range of motion,” blog explained.

Meet Atlas!

Boston Dynamics explained in a blog post that the electric version of Atlas will be stronger. The new version of Atlas will include a broader range of motion than any of the previous generations of humanoid robots. Reportedly the  early hydraulic version of Atlas officially retired on April 16.

Experts believe that a YouTube teaser was created showcasing the new Atlas’ capabilities.  It is expected to do cartwheels, backflips and has a more fluid range of motion. Additionally, it has a sleek design  that replaced the early bulky appearance. The new version of Atlas is expected to be more streamlined as the new model is devoid of any exposed cables.

The future of Robots!

Recent reports suggest that Aitana, a 25-year-old pink-haired sensation from Barcelona, who is Spain’s first-ever artificial intelligence (AI) model, is turning heads and raking in up to 10,000 euros monthly. Aitana was the brainchild of Rubén Cruz who was frustrated with the unpredictability of human models and influencers. It is believed that Cruz and his team embarked on a venture to create their own digital muse.

Critics argue that Aitana and Atlas can take the robotics world by storm. Looking at the developments around robots, Robert Playter, Boston Dynamics’ CEO, emphasised the company’s commitment to not just creating an impressive R&D project but delivering a valuable solution that meets real-world needs, as per insights fromTech Crunch,. “We’re going to be doing experiments with Hyundai on-site and Atlas, beginning next year. To make this successful, you have to have a lot more than just cool tech. You really have to understand that use case, you’ve got to have sufficient productivity to make investment in a robot worthwhile,” Playter concluded.
