Area food trucks give students lesson in food service and entrepreneurship | News
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Food Truck Friday returned to Logan Middle School.
Some of the area’s finest food trucks offered tasty treats to middle school students, staff and community members.
Organizers said the event is about more than just a good meal. The kids also got a chance to see what goes into the food service industry and what it means to own a business.
“Students get to really hear how the whole process works of how they start their businesses,” Business Teacher at Logan Middle Dylan Meyer said. “The struggles they go through, the benefits of doing it and kind of seeing students get inspired. That is pretty cool.”
The owner of Woodshed Mobile Wood Fired Pizza said food trucks are the future of the culinary world.
“If you are willing to take a challenge, buy a food truck,” Tom Babler said. “It’s fun, you meet a lot of great people, you get to work outdoors. It’s awesome.”
Portions of the proceeds from Food Truck Friday will directly benefit Logan Middle School’s Career and Technical Education (CTE).
