To say that I am addicted to technology is an understatement. I spend 90% of my day with my headphones on, plugged into every corner of the internet. I often multitask with my devices. I usually write while watching streaming television and listening to Spotify playlists, while my projector screen creates virtual reality landscapes on my wall, similar to the movie “Smart House.” I even have a special laptop for taking baths, which I call my “Bathtop.” Whenever I have a question, Google is the first person I ask, and when I need someone to listen, I turn to ChatGPT. However, I was slightly irritated this month when some of my favorite communities and creators began questioning my unwavering love for the internet.
