Here are three listed Indian companies on stock exchanges that supply essential equipment to two of the world’s most prestigious automobile manufacturers, BMW and Mercedes Benz.
TVS Motor Company Ltd
TVS Motors supplies integrated wiring harnesses to the BMW-Hero Motors joint venture for 650 cc motorcycles.
Additionally, TVS Motors, through its partnership with BMW Motorrad, has been involved in the manufacturing of sub-500cc motorcycles for global markets, including models such as BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, and BMW G310 RR.
TVS Motors, through its subsidiary TVS Sundaram Motors, is an authorised dealership of Mercedes-Benz in India. They have been in a successful partnership with Mercedes-Benz for over 20 years, distributing their vehicles and products in various cities and towns across India.
Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd
The company in collaboration with Kromberg and Schubert AG, Germany, set up Kromberg Schubert Motherson Sumi Systems Pvt. Ltd. in October 1995, to manufacture integrated wiring harnesses to supply to Mercedes Berz-Telco joint venture and the BMW-Hero Motors joint venture for 650cc motorcycles.
Samvardhana Motherson International Limited was established in 1986 as a joint venture between India’s Samvardhana Motherson Group and Sumitomo Wiring Systems (Japan).
Bharat Forge
Bharat Forge supplies machined crankshafts for the 13-litre and 15-litre engine platforms to Detroit Diesel, USA.
Bharat Forge also shares the 13-litre platform with Mercedes-Benz Group’s Mannheim facility in Germany.
Mercedes-Benz Group’s flagship engines are widely regarded as some of the most technologically advanced high-performance heavy-duty engines in commercial vehicles.
Bharat Forge has been Mercedes-Benz Group’s long-standing partner for almost two decades now. The company has a long and successful history as a strategic supplier-partner for the critical finish machined front axle beams, machined crankshafts and steering knuckles to Mercedes-Benz Group plants in Germany, USA, Japan, Brazil and India.
