Sasin School of Management hosts a press conference to introduce Sasin Impact Entrepreneurship Week, featuring the GCEC Bangkok Summit and major entrepreneurial competitions.
asin School of Management held a press conference to launch Sasin Impact Entrepreneurship Week 2024 (Sasin IEW), featuring the GCEC New Frontier: Bangkok Summit 2024, along with two competitions, Bangkok Business Challenge (BBC) and the Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific 2024 (FECC-AP).
The press conference kicked off with a vision talk by four experts, a preview of two world-class business competitions, and the debut of GCEC, to be held on June 19-23, 2024. Dibyendu Bose, Sasin Deputy Director of Strategy, Innovation & Impact, delivered an opening remark at the press conference.“Sasin IEW is a gathering of entrepreneurs, investors, academics, policymakers, and the general public who want to drive innovation and positive change for a sustainable future for everyone,” he said.
Lars Svensson, Chief Executive of Sasin Sustainability & Entrepreneurship Center, added, “Sasin IEW aims to kindle multilateral discourse and dialogue on ‘Inclusive Entrepreneurship Driving Impact,’ and this is the first time we gather three interlinked events under one umbrella of sustainability and entrepreneurship.”
Sasin IEW features the first Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) meeting in Asia “New Frontier: Bangkok Summit 2024,” under the overarching theme “Inclusive Entrepreneurship Driving Impact.” Additionally, it includes Sasin’s long-standing and impactful entrepreneurial competitions:
Bangkok Business Challenge 2024 (BBC 2024), Sasin’s global student startup competition, which stands as the longest-running business competition of its kind in Asia.
Family Enterprise Case Competition – Asia Pacific 2024 (FECC-AP 2024), designed to identify a student group with sharp and incisive analysis of a regional family business case, advancing them to the global and final round in Vermont, United States.
GCEC New Frontier: Bangkok Summit 2024 will also organize three forums throughout the week:
Driving Inclusive Entrepreneurship Ecosystems for Impact: Journey to Success – This forum will discuss partnership strategies and innovations in startup ecosystems in Thailand and the region. Panelists include representatives from university-based entrepreneurship centers (KMUTT, Chiang Mai University, Chulalongkorn University), Social Enterprise Thailand, the National Innovation Agency (NIA), and the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE).
Navigating the Startup Path to Success: Insights from Investors and Enablers for Impact Entrepreneurs – This forum will address challenges in the entrepreneurial landscape and innovative funding approaches. Participants will connect with investors and learn from panelists, including an agritech expert, a business coach, angel investors, and representatives from the Thai Startup Association, the Yunus Center AIT, and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA).
Redefining Values for Impact Entrepreneurship with the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) – This forum will explore how SEP fosters balanced, inclusive growth and how this benefits startups and entrepreneurs. Moderated by Vasu Srivibha, Sasin Chief Impact Officer, the discussion will feature Sukich Udindu, the First CEO of SEAMEO SEPS, and Steve Young, Honorary Co-Chair of Sasin Sustainability & Entrepreneurship Center.
