Bangor Savings beefs up leadership with promotion of fintech expert

Bangor Savings Bank has promoted Ryan Dumond to senior vice president and director of bank fintech partnerships. 

In his new position, Dumond will oversee the expansion of financial technology partnerships, fostering collaborations to shape the future of digital banking and related solutions at Bangor Savings.

“Ryan’s leadership in developing our Banking-as-a-Service program has been outstanding,” said Kimberly Pope, executive vice president and chief banking officer.

“Ryan’s team will continue to lead our BaaS business initiatives forward while also working to attract and expand fintech client relationships to include more traditional banking solutions.”

Dumond began his banking career at several smaller community banks in southern Maine and then moved to Washington, D.C., to work for a large global banking center. He later returned to Maine with his family to begin his 22-year tenure at Bangor Savings Bank.

In that time, he has helped launch several digital banking products that have enhanced the bank’s customer experience and expanded its financial services.

“Over the past year, Bangor Savings Bank has made significant strides in offering Banking-as-a-Service solutions. I am eager to build relationships with fintechs and expand this new offering at the Bank in my new role as director of bank fintech partnerships,” he said.

“BaaS is becoming an integral part of growing the bank’s business, and our team looks forward to further positioning the bank as a trusted advisor within the fintech industry.”

Dumond received his bachelor’s degree in criminology at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

Bangor Savings, founded in 1852, has more than 60 branches in Maine and New Hampshire, as well as business and loan production offices in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. 

With nearly $7.5 billion in assets as of June 30, 2023, Bangor Savings topped the list of the largest Maine-based banks in the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
