Belarusian car maker BelGee considering buying electronic parts from Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast
MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Novosibirsk Oblast may start supplying electronic components for automobiles made by BelGee. The possibility was mentioned by SZAO BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky as a delegation of Russia’s Novosibirsk Oblast led by Governor Andrei Travnikov visited the Belarusian car manufacturer BelGee, BelTA has learned.
Gennady Svidersky said: “We know that the production of electronics is very well developed in Novosibirsk Oblast and electronics is one of the main components in car manufacturing. This is why Novosibirsk Oblast enterprises with competences in the field of automobile electronics may become our partners and may supply electronic automobile components for the Belarusian vehicles, which are made locally under a proprietary brand.”
According to the director general, the Russian delegation examined the production facility with interest and was made familiar with the technology used to make Belarusian cars.
The car factory BelGee was solemnly inaugurated on 17 November 2017. The enterprise occupies 118 hectares. Assembled in Belarus, the cars of the Geely brand are certified for compliance with requirements of technical regulations of the Customs Union and have been tested according to EuroNCAP methods (including frontal impact, side impact, and other tests).
