Britain’s new Callum Skye electric car has 170-mile range and £80k price
A new sports car, developed fully in-house by a British design and engineering business, has been unveiled to the public and has already received a large number of orders.
The Callum Skye is a multi-terrain electric vehicle that was exhibited on the first day of Concours on Savile Row and was designed by legendary British car designer Ian Callum.
The all-wheel drive electric vehicle was first announced in November 2023 to global critical acclaim, with the first running prototype being displayed earlier this week.
Callum’s latest endeavour is powered by a 42kWh battery with an anticipated range of 170 miles and an option to specify ultra-fast charging which would provide a full charge in under 10 minutes.

The Skye, which has been described as “bold and beautiful”, boasts “sports car performance” with the EV able to go from zero to 60mph in under four seconds.
On the first day of it being on display, the Callum Skye was greeted with “double-figure orders”, with experts predicting further interest in the vehicle as more people get the chance to see it.
Ian Callum, the designer of the Skye, has previously worked with major brands like Ford, Aston Martin, Jaguar Cars and most recently Jaguar Land Rover.
He said the team was delighted with the overwhelming response to the vehicle at Concours on Savile Row, showing the power of the historic event.
Callum, who acted as the design director of the Skye, said: “In order to maximise the room, it’s essential to keep the interior forms simple.
“The interior design intention is incredibly disciplined; we’ve edited our vision to only include necessary elements, giving the driver and passengers everything they need while avoiding wasted space.
“It uses clean yet sophisticated geometric shapes that complement the beautiful forms showcased on the exterior.
“With the elegant simplicity of the interior, we retain the honesty of Skye being a capable and durable lifestyle vehicle, while offering a refined cabin experience.”

Prices for the Callum Skye range between £80,000 and £110,000, with order books now open for the sleek electric vehicle.
The intention is for the Callum Skye to be put into an exclusive low-volume production, according to engineering director Adam Donfrancesco.
He added: “Visitors to Concours on Savile Row will see our prototype developments and we’re delighted with the progress so far.
“It is of course an incredible undertaking to design, develop and producing your own vehicle from the ground up, but the Callum business – which will turn five years old in June – and its passionate team, is well-equipped for the challenge.”
