Chevy Blazer EV lease prices are nearly the same as gas models
If you’re looking to go electric, the new all-electric Chevy Blazer is tempting. With new incentives, Chevy Blazer EV lease prices can be just $10 more than the gas-powered model per month.
The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV is part of GM’s revamped EV lineup, along with the Chevy Equinox and Silverado EVs.
After slashing Blazer EV prices in March, the all-electric SUV starts at just over $50,000. However, that’s not including the $7,500 EV tax credit. With the credit included, the 2024 Blazer EV (2LT) starts at just $42,695 with up to 279 miles range.
GM said a lower-priced (LT FWD) model will debut later this year with starting prices under $50,000.
Despite the Blazer EV’s MSRP being over $13,000 more expensive than the gas-powered model, lease prices can be as little as $10 more per month.
According to online car research firm CarsDirect, the 2024 Blazer EV is listed at $369 per month. That’s for 24 months, with $1,679 due upfront.
The offer is good through July 2 and is based on the Blazer EV’s MSRP of $50,195 for the 2LT trim and 10,000 miles a year. It also includes a $1,000 incentive for non-GM lessees and a $1,500.
Chevy Blazer EV lease prices compared to the gas model
Meanwhile, the gas-powered Blazer (starting at $36,795) is listed at $299 per month for 24 months and $3,129 due at signing (after a $2,000 loyalty discount).
The Chevy Blazer EV lease costs $439 per month, while the gas model costs $429 per month. Why are lease prices about the same with a significant gap in MSRPs? CarsDirect found it’s likely due to the EV’s residual value, which is 82% compared to 69% for the gas model.
2024 Blazer EV trim |
Old MSRP | New starting price | Difference | EPA Range | Starting price with $7,500 tax credit |
2LT AWD | $56,715 | $50,195 | -$6,520 | 279 | $42,695 |
RS AWD | $60,215 | $54,595 | -$5,620 | 279 | $47,095 |
RS RWD | $61,790 | $56,170 | -$5,620 | 320 (GM-est) |
$48,670 |
GM is boosting the Blazer EV’s residual value to account for the $7,500 federal tax credit. The EV also has a lower lease rate at 4.01% compared to 4.94% for the gas-powered Blazer.
At $439, the Blazer EV is $141 cheaper per month to lease than the 2024 Honda Prologue ($580 per month), which is based on the same platform.
Separately, Chevy is offering no payments for up to 120 days on its Blazer and Equinox EV models (see the deal here).
