Creativity and Entrepreneurship – It’s Never Too Early to Start!

In the United Way Innomate program, students prepare for a successful adult life through nationwide high school training followed by a competition.

The goal of the six-month program is to help young people get to know and develop skills in teamwork, brainstorming, creativity, design thinking, and presentation as soon as possible. They then create their own creative ideas and develop their financial and business models.

In this year’s finals, five teams competed in a three-day camp. During the camp, they worked with corporate leaders and mentors, and received advice and inspiration before presenting their ideas to a jury also composed of large corporate executives.

Professional presentations, far exceeding their age and experience, were showcased, some infused with humor, addressing various topics aimed at solving societal problems.

The team from Móricz Zsigmond High School in Szentendre took first place with their innovative electric scooter idea, “E-Roll.” Second place went to the team from Karolina High School in Szeged for their “Face 2 Face” idea, which helps young people struggling with mental health issues. The third place was awarded to the “SzívvelSzállít” team from the Motivation School in Szeged for their app idea focusing on the problem of food waste.

The mentors and jury members included:

  • Anikó Zethner (BP)
  • Andrea Dintsér (YourStory)
  • Bianka Víg and Dia Nagy (SAP)
  • Dániel Orosz (Generali)
  • György Bereznyák (3M)
  • Zoltán Kozma (SAP)
  • Szabolcs Bresztó (Billingo)
  • Gábor Dalnoki (Exim Bank)
  • László Kalmár (Generali a Biztonságért Foundation)
  • Beatrix Bedő and Róbert Papp (Impact Hub)
