Customers gather to celebrate children entrepreneurs in northern Kentucky


From earrings and jewelry to homemade snacks and even slime, kid entrepreneurs rang in the sales as part of the Children’s Entrepreneur Market in Covington this weekend. “We’re selling slime and also bracelets,” one of the kid entrepreneurs explained. “Each slime has different gadgets in it, and if someone wants to add an extra gadget its $1.75.”45 to 50 young entrepreneurs staffed their booths as part of the Covington Mayfest marketplace.Market Manager McKenzie Campbell helped set up the sale.“It tells them how the real world works,” she said.These young sales managers manufactured, produced and pocketed proceeds from their sales, while parents like Blake Campbell cashed in with encouragement and some sales support.“I’m a proud dad. I love seeing them be proud of what they accomplished,” he said.Satisfied customers were wowed by these next generation marketers, developing their skills with every sale.The sales totals might not boost the economy but success in business begins early for these future billionaires.”If you want a business it doesn’t matter if you are five,” Campbell said. “You can start now.”
