A U.S. Army soldier with 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment – Joint Task Force-Bravo (JTF-B), and a National Commission of Emergencies (CNE) telecommunication technician unload supplies from an aircraft while conducting a real-world mission to repair a radio tower during CENTAM Guardian 24 Phase II at San Jose, Costa Rica, June 11, 2024. Two CNE telecommunication technicians were transported to the repair sight using a Blackhawk helicopter assigned to JTF-B and utilizing Marines from 4th Civil Affairs Group, Marine Forces Reserve, as translators. Exercise CENTAM Guardian 24 Phase II, an annual, multinational exercise designed to build humanitarian assistance/disaster response functional capacity, 3-14 June, is taking place in various locations throughout Costa Rica.
