Egypt’s NTI agrees partnership for cybersecurity training

Egypt’s National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) has partnered with Arab Security Consultants (ASC), a distributor of the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) in Egypt, to bolster collaboration in network security and cybersecurity.

EC-Council, operating in 145 countries, describes itself as the world’s largest cybersecurity technical certification body. This agreement aims to enable the establishment of the EC-Council Academy at NTI, delivering training in EC-Council’s network security courses and technologies to NTI students and graduates.

Over a three-year period, the initiative hopes to engage up to a thousand trainees annually across all NTI branches in various governorates. The academy will also prepare trainees for international accreditation by EC-Council.

NTI gains access to EC-Council’s Essentials Series training content through the EC-Council platform. This includes Ethical Hacking Essentials, covering the fundamentals of ethical hacking, information security, penetration testing, threats and vulnerability assessment, as well as countermeasures.

Additionally, the curriculum includes Network Defence Essentials, offering insights into information security and network defence fundamentals such as identification, authentication, authorisation, and network security controls. Another course, Digital Forensics Essentials, introduces learners to computer forensics fundamentals, covering data acquisition, defeating anti-forensics techniques, and investigating attacks and crimes.

This collaboration, say the partners, facilitates the development of advanced programmes by NTI and ASC, aimed at cultivating specialised expertise in various cybersecurity domains and achieving international accreditation from EC-Council.

This is not EC-Council’s first foray into the Middle East. Indeed, it recently announced a strategic partnership with CISO Consultancy, a distributor of technology and supply chain services based in Dubai, to enhance cybersecurity expertise in the Middle East by offering bespoke solutions, ensuring universal accessibility, and cultivating the progression of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
