El Paso’s Premier Event for Women Entrepreneurs Returns

The global pandemic was tough for all of us, but I always like to look at the silver lining of negative situations, and for this situation that silver lining was that women were able to turn their hobbies into side hustles!

Many of those “side hustles” are now successful small businesses! Although these businesses may be successful, there is always room for growth and knowledge and if you’re a small business owner who is looking to continue growing your business then this event is definitely for you!

The Women’s Business Border Center is set to host its 20th Annual Women’s International Business Symposium, titled “Dancing Backwards in High Heels,” on May 30th, 2024.

This premier event, celebrated as the largest women’s conference in the Southwest, will take place at The Centennial Banquet and Conference Center in Fort Bliss, Texas.

The Symposium promises a day packed with inspiration, education, and networking. Attendees will hear from prominent women who have excelled in various fields such as business, healthcare, and hospitality.

Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of Economic Development & Tourism at the Office of the Texas Governor, will deliver opening remarks, setting an empowering tone for the day.

An all-day pass, priced at $85 for Hispanic Chamber Members and $95 for Future Members, includes breakfast, lunch, professional headshots, and a plethora of pampering sessions such as skincare consultations and massages. Participants will also be able to enjoy DJ music, fashion showcases, and engaging breakout sessions, culminating in a grand MED Week reception.

This year’s event will honor four exceptional women for their leadership and innovation: Betsy C. Keller, Crystal Martinez, Claudia Knight, and Cindy Conroy. Their achievements reflect the symposium’s spirit of excellence and resilience.

Angelica Fuentes, Founder & Owner of MUVOP Mexico, will deliver the keynote address, inspiring attendees with her advocacy for gender equality and her entrepreneurial journey.

Concluding the day, the MED Week Award Ceremony will celebrate minority-owned businesses and champions, highlighting the vibrant and diverse business community of the region.

Sponsorship opportunities and admission tickets are still available for this event. You can find more details on how to become a sponsor or how to attend by clicking here.
