Electric vehicle charging port maker plans Durham HQ
Ionna, a developer of electric vehicle charging stations, said Tuesday it will create more than 200 jobs in Durham as part of establishing its global headquarters there. It plans a $10 million capital investment.
Ionna is a new company founded by seven automotive original equipment manufacturers: BMW Group, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis.
The manufacturer will design, develop, build and operate a high-powered EV charging station network with the goal of increasing EV adoption in North America by more than 30,000 charging points.
The network will support and be open to electric vehicles of all brands.
