Electric vehicle fire closes a Colorado Highway


DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Firefighters had to use a special blanket to extinguish an electric vehicle fire along a Colorado highway Wednesday.

At about 11:30 a.m. South Metro Fire and Rescue responded to the fire along Highway 83 between Franktown and Monument near S. Russellville Road along with the Parker Police Department. No injuries were reported, but a Hazmat crew had to assist as Highway 83 was closed in both directions.

The last time this article was updated, Highway 83 was still closed in the area at 1:50 p.m.
