Elon Musk says deliveries of Optimus could begin next year

They might be out for sale from 2025.

Musk believes that Optimus could revolutionize industries by performing tasks that are repetitive or potentially dangerous.

From Optimus simply folding clothes to boiling eggs, these humanoids have seriously impressed us.

“In my opinion, Optimus will be more valuable than everything else combined,” Musk said during a recent call.

He envisions a future where Optimus, with its advanced capabilities, could greatly expand the economy.

The journey of Optimus began with the aim to address potential labor shortages and tedious tasks in various industries.

Musk sees its potential in areas like logistics, warehousing, retail, and manufacturing.

“We do think we will have Optimus in limited production in the natural factory itself, doing useful tasks before the end of this year,” Musk shared optimistically.

He added, “And then I think we may be able to sell it externally by the end of next year. These are just guesses.”

Despite challenges faced by Tesla, Musk remains confident in the company’s future, particularly in robotics.

He emphasizes that Tesla should be viewed not just as an auto company but also as an AI or robotics company.

While there’s hardly anyone who is still unaware of the Optimus robots, if this is something out of nowhere for you, here’s what you need to know.

Optimus, also known as Tesla Bot, is a groundbreaking humanoid robot developed by Tesla, Inc.

Announced at the company’s AI Day event in August 2021, it aims to redefine human-robot interaction.

CEO Elon Musk envisions Optimus as more significant than Tesla’s vehicle business.

Earlier, Elon even shared the progress video of these bots.

The Gen 2 version, unveiled in December 2023, shows even more improved features like enhanced mobility and agility.

With the possibility of deliveries beginning next year, the world eagerly awaits the arrival of this transformative technology.
