Nashville Entrepreneur Center announced Monday the appointment of financial services sector veteran David Malone as executive-in-residence for its Project FinTech accelerator initiative.
According to a release, Malone was a co-founder and president of Nashville-based Confirmation, a 2000-founded financial data verification and security software solutions provider targeting the banking and accounting industries. Thomson Reuters acquired Confirmation in 2019 for nearly $500 million.
After the sale, Malone served as senior director of global accounts for Confirmation, eventually leaving in 2023. Before his departure, he helped the company increase global account sales by over 118 percent from $16 million in 2020 to $35 million in 2022.
Malone earned a B.A. degree in history from the University of Mississippi.
The nonprofit NEC is seeking Project FinTech applications for its next group of participants (read more here about the formation of the program). Business startups focused on improving banking, purchasing and lending systems have until May 3 to apply.
“We are thrilled to welcome David Malone to our team,” Sam Davidson, Nashville Entrepreneur Center CEO, said in the release. “With his guidance, emerging companies will gain unprecedented access to strategic insights and tools essential for success in the competitive world of financial services.”
