EV Sales Growth Stalls in Europe
Although the EU is still seeing positive growth in registrations of battery electric vehicle (EV) sales, the pace of growth is slowing as headwinds become stronger. In some markets, including Europe’s biggest car market and economy Germany, there has been a notable drop in sales due to a subsidy withdrawal. Other roadblocks include charging issues and uncertainty over country or EU plans to effectively ban the sale of new combustion engine cars, typically slated to be met by the mid or early 2030s. Consumers are unsure if these bans will be pushed back or even withdrawn.
